At the Leah Meyer Austin award ceremony at the Achieving the Dream ConferenceNew Image this year, the Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC) received special recognition for its program that accelerates students through developmental courses and into and through gateway courses.
CCBC used data to engage faculty and guide the creation of a 25-hour professional development program for both full- and part-time faculty.ALP has now been adopted by more than 100 colleges across the country and implemented statewide in several states.

The award of $10,000, provided by the Kresge Foundation, will be used toward student success programs and initiatives.
